Rise & Walk Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
Rise & Walk is an alarm clock you turn off by walking. It's made by 1601684 B.C. LTD. ("we"), a company in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: the personal things stay on your phone, and the little we receive is anonymous.
What stays on your phone
These never reach us:
- Your name, wake-up goals, and reason for waking up, entered during onboarding.
- Your alarms, streak, and Sunny's outfits.
- Your steps. The app counts steps with your iPhone's motion sensor only while you walk to turn off an alarm.
- Your sleep. If you allow it, the app reads last night's sleep from Apple Health to tell you how you slept. It only reads, never writes, and Health data is never sent to us or anyone else, and never used for advertising.
iCloud. If you're signed in to iCloud, the app saves your alarms, profile (including your name), streak, outfits, and settings to your own iCloud account so they come back after a reinstall or on a new phone. That copy lives in your iCloud account, under Apple's privacy policy. We can't read it.
What we receive
Anonymous usage data (PostHog). To learn where the app confuses people, the app sends events such as "onboarding screen viewed", "paywall viewed", "alarm answered", or "walk completed". These are tied to a random ID made on your phone, not to your name, Apple ID, email, or any other app. With them come your device model, iOS version, app version, and language. Your IP address is discarded and not used to locate you. We use PostHog's US servers and keep this data for up to one year. You can turn it off any time in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data.
Purchases (RevenueCat). Subscriptions are handled by Apple. RevenueCat, our purchase service, receives the App Store receipt and an anonymous ID so it can tell the app whether your subscription is active, and it shares your purchase events (trial started, renewed, cancelled) with our analytics under the same anonymous ID. If you installed the app from an ad in the App Store, Apple tells RevenueCat which of our ad campaigns and search keywords it was, so we know which ads work; this uses Apple's own attribution, not tracking, and no device ID. We never see your payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Crash reports. If you've chosen to share analytics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple sends us anonymous crash reports.
We don't sell your data, don't show ads, and don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Your choices
- Turn off anonymous usage data in the app's Settings.
- Erase everything the app saved, on your phone and in iCloud, with Settings → Delete all my data in the app.
- Turn off Motion & Fitness or Health access in the iPhone's Settings or the Health app.
- Turn off iCloud sync for the app in Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
- Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone.
Because the data we receive isn't linked to you, we usually can't find "your" records. If you have a question or a request, email us and we'll help as far as we can.
Children
Rise & Walk isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
